Required Visa Items
Gather the following items and send them to SPS:
Valid Passport
Required for: Business, Tourist, Crew, Student, Employment
Submit your ACTUAL passport containing two blank facing visa pages. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry. If you do not have blank visa pages in your passport, Swift Passport can help you obtain extra pages or help you renew your passport; contact us for more information. Please note that the last 2 pages in your passport ARE NOT counted as visa pages, those are amendment pages.
China Visa Application
Required for: Business, Tourist
Individuals needing a China tourist visa (China L visa) must Complete and sign the China Visa Application.
All Non-U.S. Passport holders also must complete a Supplemental Information Form.
China Visa Application (Q1)
Required for: Student
- Complete and sign a China Visa Application (Q1)
- Letter of Acceptance from your School
- An official letter from your school proving you are enrolled. Your school will easily provide this upon request
China Supplemental Information
Required for: Employment, Student
Complete and sign a China Supplemental Information Form.
Letter of Invitation from Company in China
Required for: Business
One of the following documents is required:
- An Official Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit or a Confirmation Letter of Invitation issued by an authorized Chinese Agency
- Letter MUST be stamped by the Duly Authorized Invitor
- A letter from the company which you are conducting business with in China. Must be signed by the management in charge of the area that the applicant intends to be in contact with, informing:
- Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, & date of birth
- Letter MUST be stamped by the Duly Authorized Invitor
- Job position and job description of the contact person in China
- Assignment description and information about the end-purpose of the intended activities in China (sales, purchases, coordination, auditing, etc.);
- Date(s) and place(s) of the meetings and information on periodicity, average length and assignment description of future trips, if any
- Financial responsibility for the trip, if applicable
- This letter should be written on company letterhead
- Name and Title of the visa applicant must be included
- Provide a detailed description of the business which will be performed in China including a detailed timeline
Letter must be stamped by the Duly Authorized Inviter in China
Official Invitation From China
Required for: Employment
Original and one photocopy of the Work Permit for Aliens issued by the Chinese Labor Ministry or the original and one photocopy of the Foreign Expert's License issued by the Chinese Foreign Expert Bureau.
Visa Notification issued by an authorized Chinese unit (usually the Foreign Affairs Office of the local government) on or after January 1st, 2011.
- Additional Materials Required for Accompanying Family Members
Visa notification issued by the authorized Chinese unit or proof of kinship, e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.
Company Letter of Intent (Recommended, Not Always Required)
Required for: Business
China Business Visa (China F visa) applicants are required to submit a company letter of intent that meets the following criteria:
- This letter should be written on company letterhead
- Name and Title of China business visa applicant needs to be included
- Provide a detailed description of the business which will be conducted in China, including a detailed timeline.

Proof of Stay in China
Required for: Tourist
- Confirmed hotel(s) confirmation(s) from hotel in China. Confimations must cover entire stay in China. Letter of invitation with detailed itinerary from a Tour Operator will work as well.
- If applicant is visiting friend or relative provide a signed letter of invitation from the host in China, must also include a copy of the host's Chinese ID. The letter AND application need to have the address in China. See Sample Letter of Invitation to China
- If applicant is a spouse or other family traveling with someone on a business visa, the host company in China can provide a letter of invitation on your behalf.
Proof of Travel
Required for: Tourist
Copy of your round trip ticket or itinerary from an air carrier or travel agent showing flight confirmation, flight details and dates of departure to and from your destination.
1 Passport Type Photo
Required for: Business, Employment, Tourist, Crew, Student
Photo Requirements: Photos must have been taken in the last 6 months, be 2 inches by 2 inches in size, and have white background with no patterns or background objects visible. Photo must be in color and be free of glare. Ears should be visible, and you must be facing forward. Dark glasses, headbands, and spaghetti straps are not permitted. Feel free to smile!
- Option 1: email a photo to Swift Passport Services photos@swiftpassport.com using the following guidelines. Swift Passport will size and print your passport photos for a nominal fee of $15.
- Photo file needs to be attached to the email as a .jpeg file. Other file formats cannot be properly formatted
- Have someone else take the picture of you; please do not send pictures you take of yourself.
- Photos need to be taken with a digital camera, phone camera photos will be of insufficient quality
- Please do not attempt to resize or format the photo in any way
- Option 2: Obtain a passport photo from a passport photo service (Walgreens, CVS, FedEx, etc.). Include photo in your package to Swift Passport Services.
Official Invitation from China
Required for: Student
The original and the photocopy of the Visa Application for Study in China (JW201 or JW202) and Admission Notice from the enrolled school are required.
The JW202 must be signed by the student on the bottom right of the form in blue ink.
1 Letter of Authorization
Required for: Business, Employment, Tourist, Crew, Student
Individuals must print and sign the Letter of Authorization.
Business Letter
Required for: Crew
Letter from employer (i.e. airline) or sponsoring company, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant. Letter should include applicant's employment status/position held in the company, employee number, and specifically request a crew visa. Applicants requesting a multiple entry visa to China must provide a letter stating the need for a multiple entry visa and the dates of future travel to the country.
Copy of Company Identification
Required for: Crew
Photocopy of employee/crew ID. Applicants within Los Angeles jurisdiction must submit original crew ID.
Copy of Valid Passport Information Page
Required for: Employment
Color or black and white is fine as long as it is a clear copy
Copy of Previous Chinese Visas
Required for: Crew
If you are attempting to apply for a 2 Year Crew Visa, please provide photo copies of previous 2 China Crew Visas
Expedited China Tourist Visa Service Notes
Please note visa validity begins the day the visa is issued for all visas. The China consulate does not accept mail in applications, you either need to appear in person at the consulate, or have Swift Passport appear at the consulate on your behalf.
