Surprising 2013 Travel Trends
If you’re thinking of traveling across the Atlantic this year, you’re not alone. While cruises in the Caribbean are still the top travel destinations for Americans, the Travel Leaders Group has conducted a 2013 travel trends survey that shows that more and more Americans are jumping the pond and heading to such exotic destinations as Croatia, Turkey, and the Czech Republic for vacations in 2013. The group has discovered that Americans plan to travel at least as much if not more this year, and the destinations that they’re looking at are not necessarily the typical fare. While many will still make annual treks to such hotspots as Orlando or Las Vegas, international travel is also seeing a surge, and there is no shortage of great places to visit around the world.
The Travel Leaders Group reports that there are a number of up-and-coming destinations in Europe that US travelers should start to consider in addition to or even instead of such standard fare as London and Rome. Croatia is at the top of the up-and-coming list for Europe followed by Turkey and the Czech Republic. Portugal and Iceland are also high on the list, and each destination offers its own unique set of sites, history, and vibrant culture. Prague in the Czech Republic is a particularly wonderful place to visit if you’re interested in beautiful buildings, wonderful people, and an excellent nightlife.
The up-and-coming destinations in the Pacific include New Zealand at the top of list as well as Fiji, Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Australia. New Zealand offers exceptional sites and activities for true adventurers. You can enjoy everything from the beach to the jungle to the mountains and have a true explorer’s vacation in New Zealand. Go skydiving, climb a mountain, or simply relax on white sandy beaches in this popular destination that is known for having some of the friendliest locals in the world. Tahiti, likewise, is a beautiful place to turn for stunning beaches and wonderful culture unlike any you will find in the continental United States.
In Asia and South America, some of the most popular destinations this year will be Vietnam, Ecuador, and Panama. Brazil is always a wonderful place to visit as well, and travel to that region will certainly go up as the World Cup approaches. If you’re not a soccer fan, you may want to get there before the crowds arrive.
