Canadian Embassy Information

Canada is located in the northern part of North America, with its southern border running along the United States for roughly 5,525 miles. As such, it is the world’s longest bi-national land border. The capital of Canada is Ottawa, though its three largest metropolitan areas are Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. It is the world’s second-largest country by total area, with an area spanning 3.85 million square miles. Canada largely consists of tundra and forest, making it a sparsely populated country. More than 80 percent of its population is concentrated in larger cities. The country’s climate varies based on location, with the north experiencing an Arctic climate and southern areas experiencing warmer weather with four distinct seasons.
