Central African Republic Embassy Information
Located in Central Africa, the Central African Republic (CAR) is bordered by Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of the Congo, and Cameroon. The CAR is currently experiencing a civil war that has been going on since 2012. The country spans an area of 240,000 square miles with a population estimated at roughly 4.7 million. The Sudano-Guinean savannas make up most of the CAR; however, it also includes a Sahelo-Sudanian zone and an equatorial forest zone. The CAR’s motto is “Unity, Dignity, Work.” The Central African Republic is one of the poorest countries in the world despite its significant access to mineral deposits and other resources.
