Chad Embassy Information

Chad is a country located in north-central Africa and is bordered by Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. Chad is made up of multiple regions, including an arid Sahelian belt, a desert zone, and a fertile Sudanian Savanna zone. The country is named after Lake Chad, which is the second-largest wetland in Africa. N’Djamena is the capital of Chad as well as its largest city. More than 200 different ethnic and linguistic groups call Chad home, though the official languages of the country are Arabic and French. Most of Chad’s population follow religions of Islam and Christianity. Chad has a reputation for being one of the most corrupt countries in the world, and most of its population lives in poverty, working as herders and farmers.
