Colombia is a South American country bordered by the Caribbean Sea, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Brazil, and the Pacific Ocean. The capital city of Colombia is Bogotá. The country has a rich cultural heritage that has been influenced by several Amerindian civilizations, which have contributed to its ethnic and linguistic diversity. It has also been influenced by European settlement and forced African labor. It is a biodiverse country and home to the Amazon rainforest, deserts, grasslands, highlands, and islands. Colombia is also the only NATO Global Partner in Latin America. It enjoys the third-largest economy in South America, thanks to diversification, macroeconomic stability, and positive growth prospects. Colombia is also a member of the UN, the WTO, the Pacific Alliance, and the OAS.
