American Samoa is an unincorporated and unorganized territory of the United States, administered by the Office of Insular Affairs, US Department of the Interior. All visitors to American Samoa require a passport valid for six months or more with at least 1 blank visa page, a return ticket or onward ticket, and enough funds to support the stay.
Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and United Kingdom passport holders may enter American Samoa with a passport valid for six months or more with at least 1 blank visa page. They will be issued a 30-day entry permit upon entry.
Passports Requiring Visas
All other international passport holders intending to visit American Samoa for business or holiday are required to apply for an entry visa.
Your nationality, purpose of visit, length of visit, and number of desired entries effect whether or not you need a visa. Swift does not store all possible combinations of passport and visa requirements, but we are happy to research whether or not you need a visa and what the requirements are if you do need a visa. We do this by visiting a consulate website, going to the actual consulate, or calling the consulate for more information. If you would like us to research visas for you, please fill out the short form below, and a Swift representative will contact you within 24-48 hours with an answer to your inquiry. If at all possible, we will inquire and get back to you in the same day.
Note about Departure Taxes:You might have to pay a departure tax when you leave the country, however in most cases the airline covers it for you.
