Before You Apply
Know you will need to have the following basic documents when you apply for your India visa. Other documents may be requested. You will be provided with a full list of documents and requirements when you submit your order through Swift.
Valid Passport
Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months.
Photo
You will need to submit photos for your India visa application. We strongly suggest you take a look at our photo guidelines to ensure your photo is accepted.
Supporting Documentation
You may need to provide supporting documents such as a flight itinerary for tourism, a letter or invitation for business, or a program acceptance letter for students.
Application
For traditional visas, you’ll be asked to complete an application specific to the country you are traveling to. For e-visas, the application will be electronic.

Click Order Now and you will be asked a few questions about your passport to check that it is valid and has not expired. You’ll then enter basic contact information and choose visa options from our dropdown menus until you are guided to the right visa product for your travel needs. In some cases, it may be a traditional visa. In others, it will be an e-visa (electronic visa). You will then submit your order and make payment.
After you submit your order, you will be provided with a full list of requirements that must be fulfilled along with a list of documents. Swift will guide you through these items step-by-step. Once you have gathered all documents, you will ship them to Swift using FedEx or UPS (do NOT use USPS). You will ship documents to:

India E-Visa Processing Times
India ETA Visas typically take 72 hours to process (Monday-Friday). You do not need to pay for a passport photo or return shipping when checking out on Swift's website since this is an ETA visa and the process is completed electronically. Â
India Traditional Visa Processing Times
Processing Times for Expedited India Business Visas & India Tourist Visas: Indian visa processing time is at the sole discretion of the Indian Consulate. At this time, the Consulate does not offer any consistent processing time frames and recommends that no paid or confirmed travel be made until your visa has been issued by the Consulate.
India Procedures on Arrival
On arrival in India, you will still have additional procedures to complete. Some travelers continue to have an inconsistent experience, including some major airlines refusing to accept the e-visa as a valid travel authorization. We strongly recommend travelers secure a visa prior to departure.
4 Month Window
The Indian Government allows a 4 month window when the traveler may first enter India once the ETA visa is issued
Eligibility
International travelers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sight seeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, or short duration medical treatment. Passport should have at least six months validity.

Additional Information
- Travelers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket,with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.
- Biometric details of the applicant will be mandatorily captured at Immigration on arrival in India.
- ETA is valid for entry through 9 designated Airports: Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Trivandrum.
- International travelers having Pakistani Passport or Pakistani origin may apply for a regular Visa.
